Adult Available for Adoption
Sophia was born in 2002 and is an AKC champion, but retired now and has been with us since 2005. She gave us Dottie
and we have enjoyed her alot. She had been living with my father after my mother died last year, but he no longer can care
for her.
She is 7 years old, spayed, healthy, and needs a nice home indoors on the couch and bed, getting petted.
She loves walks and is athletic, able to jump up and down. She bonds very strong and will always be with you, thick or thin. Care: She requires moisture drops in her eyes several times a day. If you don't do it, she will not see well in
her older years.
Sophie Had a urinary tract infection a month ago which was treated but needs to be followed up
to prevent kidney damage later in life, therefore getting a low protein diet. This means light on the meat,
her favorite.
Dear Friends of Pugs ‘N Pals:
We are in dire need of your help and support. You always come through for us and we hope you can
help us again. This year we have been hit hard with the number of dogs being turned in, an increase of 50% from last
year, on the flip side donations have been down greatly. This is preventing us from helping all the dogs that need help.
Unfortunately we’ve had to turn down many. We have many dogs in-house with on-going health issues that we need
to give priority. We have tried to keep down to a minimum taking in dogs that have major health issues. In the
past these were the ones that we would concentrate on, unfortunately financial problems do not allow us to help as many.
These particular two need your help and ours.
Pebbles
We got Pebbles a couple of years ago. She came to us paralyzed.
After many diagnostic tests we were able to do a double back surgery that allowed her to walk! This cost us around $6,000
and we took care of it and paid for it. She was and is a very happy girl, handling all the pain and therapy that came
her way. All was well until end of last year, where she developed a severe inner ear infection, a fast moving Staph infection. We had to do emergency
surgery to remove her ear canal to help with the horrible pain and rid the infection. This cost us $5,000 (including
and MRI), once again we took care of it and paid for it. Unfortunately once again the infection came back in the same
ear, it appears that the antibiotics didn’t get all of it. She was in terrible pain, including brain swelling
due to the infection. Once again she had to go back to surgery to remove the infected tissues and drain the infection.
They had to cut through some facial nerves to be able to remove all of it. This cost $4,000. Here is where we need your
help. We are tapped out, we had to do the surgery or we would have lost her, not we are trying to get help in paying
off the bill. Won’t you please help Pebbles??

Larry
Last Friday we got a call from the Downey shelter that they had this beautiful boy, Larry, he is
around 5-6 yrs. old and could we help as he was ready to be put down. We rushed over and got him. Unbeknownst to us
he has many issues. He has a broken hip and broken wrist, they appear to be old injuries that were never addressed by
the owner. He also has a severe back problem. He has difficulty walking due to the hip & front leg (wrist)
that healed improperly. Maybe this threw his back out, we don’t know. He had an MRI and we need to do surgery
on the back first, then hip and wrist. This will be extremely costly, in excess of $8,000. We MUST help Larry as we
want him to walk normal again and not be in such severe pain. At this point we had to put the surgeries on hold as we
have no money. Once again we urge you to PLEASE HELP US HELP Larry. He is the sweetest little boy with a wonderful
disposition.
We ask for your donations
of any amount, every little bit helps. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for you kindness and support.
Please
send donations to Attn: Pebbles fund and/or Larry’s Fund: Pugs ‘N Pals, P.O. Box 9343 , Newport Beach

Piper is available for adoption to a special single older person or couple that is in the Orange County area.
![[IMAGE]](http://www.fuzzyfaces.com/dographics/dogan6.gif) Piper lived with my parents for 4 years now and was
my mother's dog. 6 months ago, she died and Piper has been sad. I brought her home recently and have decided to find her
a special home since my father cannot do her eye and ear care. Piper is 8 years young, sweet natured, spayed, enjoys short
walks, gets along well with 1 other dog, and will need your TLC on your couch right on your lap. I mean right on it!
If you don't want hair and a dog on your couch, don't get her.
She is not overweight but can get that way
if you don't give her Senior diet foods.
Health: Piper is healthly as far as lab work goes and needs
to have labs drawn every year to catch any problems that may arise in older pugs. Cost $120 a year.
Medications:
She will need Thyroid pills the rest of her life which are not that expensive. 500 count is around $30.
She also
needs Cyclosporin drops 2 times a day in her eyes to produce tears and prevent cloudy vision. She does not
have cataracts, or any other eye disease, just the keratotic KCS on the conjuctiva of both eyes. She is getting Cyclosporin 1% drops in both eyes for the rest of her life. the cost $50 lasting 2 months. The Specialist
at Irvine Eye Clinic says she is making great improvement and is sure she will see clearly very soon. The brown pigment is
breaking up and her sight is much improved. I have paid for all the exams and her refills for 3 months. Piper is the
sweetest pug and also talks to you, loves to have her back scratched and coat brushed. She has 7-8 healthly years left
to be loved and cherished. She would also make an excellent therapy dog, enjoying car rides and is small and sits very still
on your lap.
So, basically, she needs a special home, small amt of money to spend on her meds, and consistency
in her eye drops, ear cleaning and oral pills 2 times a day.
If in fact, she can no longer live
with you, I always take my pugs back but she would like a permanent stable home.
